Paper KOT vs Digital KOT
A paper KOT is the kitchen slip. A digital KOT is that slip on a screen or printer. SpoonCub replaces the waiter's pad with a live ticket.
KOT means kitchen order ticket: the note that tells the kitchen what to fire. Paper is cheap and dies in the splash zone. Digital KOT usually means a printer or a kitchen screen.
Paper KOT
- Fast to write, easy to lose, hard to change.
- The bill and the kitchen copy can disagree.
Digital ticket on SpoonCub
- The order the waiter tapped is the order on the phone.
- The kitchen does not get its own screen. Someone still calls the pass or shows the phone.
- Do not buy SpoonCub expecting a KOT printer.
Which one to run
If the kitchen will only cook from a printed slip, buy a POS that prints. If the kitchen can read the same ticket the waiter built, the phone is enough.

Dhaba, cafe, bakery, or parcel only
The product does not care if you serve thali, espresso, or pav. It cares that staff take table tickets. Small Indian shops with seating are the audience.
